February 4, 2013: Alexis Calleja has been nominated for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – South Florida Chapter’s 2013 Woman of the Year.
The woman of the year honor is awarded to a champion who is dedicated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to raise money for blood cancer research. They find innovative ways to support a foundation that has invested almost $1 billion in research for breakthrough therapies.
The funds raised through Ms. Calleja’s efforts go towards education and advocacy, families of patients, and survivor care. The 2013 event honoring Ms. Calleja was held at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale on June 8th, 2013.
